A great way to offer school-age children media that is screen-free is to look for podcasts for kids. There are many podcasts for kids that are available that offer interactive features or invite children to submit ideas or content in some way. One that is available through NPR that curious children might find interesting is “But Why?” which asks experts to answer children’s questions.

Disclosure Regarding Google Display Advertising: We have implemented Google Analytics features based on Display Advertising (e.g., Remarketing, Google Display Network Impression Reporting, the Doubleclick Campaign Manager integration, or Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting).
We use remarketing with Google Adwords and analytics to display content-specific advertisements to visitors who have previously visited our site when those visitors go to other websites that have the Google Display Network implemented.
