Our societies today are built up of many cultures and backgrounds. We take in children from our own communities as well as other communities and it is our job to make sure these children feel comfortable in our care. We can do this by making them feel welcome, by having an unbiased home for them to be cared for. Depending on the toys, books, etc that we have in our home can help immensely. We also have a responsibility to help the other children in our care respect each others differences. When we nurture each others backgrounds, we are not only helping that child feel comfortable and in place, but we are teaching the other children about their background and culture. The more we show children about the similarities and differences of the world, I believe the less intolerences will happen in the future.
