I can appreciate this section because I take issue with the amount of technology being used by preschoolers (and toddlers). We seem to have become a society that cannot keep their children busy in the car for 10 minutes without watching a video or playing a game on a pad or phone.

The technology I use in my family day care consists of occasionally watching a video on youtube that stresses something we have been learning about. An example would be when we did games children play around the world as part of a cultural bridge activity. I looked up children of different races and origins playing games centered on their culture.
We have watched birds being hatched on nature websites for kids too.

I have also used apps on the tv for playing dance videos for exercise on a rainy day.

You cannot eliminate technology but you can use it as tool that enhances the hands on lessons and learning that take place.
