In this module I learned many new things. I have learned how to discuss with parents of different cultures the differences in child rearing in their country and the U.S. and how to help parents feel at ease when leaving their child (who may not even speak english) in a school full of people that they don’t understand. I also learned how to make my classroom more culturally diverse, in different content areas. The most important thing that I learned is that when a parent asks a question that seems absurd to you, you need to step back and discuss and answer any and all questions about the care of their child, and assure them and make them feel comfortable about leaving their child.
