Learning various ways to store and have accessible materials for multiple ages can be done in many ways such as using baskets, under the bed storage containers, unusable potato sacks, buckets with lids that easily removed, shelving accessible for toddlers and preschoolers, etc.
Also interesting the multiple ways to use the outdoor space for exploring and learning. Creating a space that is usable and accessible for all ages can be challenging but is doable. Using 2×4’s and tree stumps, water and sand tables, attachable sliding boards, etc. can be used by many age groups.
Don’t allow the outside temperature deter you from taking the children out to play even if it’s just for 20 minutes children will benefit from the fresh air, the sun light, the ability to burn off excess energy and develop gross motor skill at the same time. Implementing an outside classroom is beneficial on many levels and can increase the learning and development of all ages.
