My family child care space is both separate and integrated. The living room is designated as the child care area. The family room serves as the infant area, sometimes shared with the toddlers. The dining area is integrated space. The yard belongs to the daycare and the dog. she is a herding dog, so she keeps track of all the children in the yard.
Space influences most of these decisions. I seldom used the living room before beginning the daycare; so, it was easy dedicate to the children. There are stations and sections both permanent and stationary. It also doubles as the sleep area. the room is a work in progress because we are trying different arrangements to decide on the most efficient and inures itself to DAP.
